We could all benefit from seeing a couple of motivational quotes now and then. Do you find yourself on social media looking for motivational memes or quotes to make it through the day? You’re not alone. It comes as no surprise that staring at the same, blank cubicle walls day after day can be less than thrilling. It is said that familiarity breeds contempt. So, change it up! A subtle reminder that every day is an opportunity for greatness. Your mindset determines your outcome, not your circumstance. 

It doesn’t matter what the day brings you. What matters is how you rise to the occaision and turn incidents into opportunities. This is a quality every company looks for in both their employees and managers. It is the the ability to take charge of where you find yourself and see things through when other can’t or won’t! What are you going to do with your day, today?

Motivational Quotes - Autograph with Excellence“Every job is a self-portrait of the person who does it. Autograph your work with excellence.”

Why settle for “good enough” when “flawless” feels so much better?

Refusing to settle for mediocre helps you discover what you’re truly capable of when it comes to accomplishing the task at hand. Every extra flourish and attention to detail you add to your work demonstrates to others there is nothing “ordinary” can do that “perfect” doesn’t do better! 

Insisting on excellence is not a bad trait to have these days, especially at work. Don’t do it for recognition or advancement, do it because no one can do it better than you.

The worst days at work are when you don’t feel like you accomplished anything at all.  Eight hours of work and seemingly nothing to show for it. Relax! It’s okay! A day spent making small adjustments can pay off big at the end. If you’ve ever focused on a big goal, you know that a lot of smaller goals must be accomplished first. Don’t begrudge the days spent on small changes.

Remember that patience is every bit as important as perserverence! Somedays, you have to remember that any project, assignment, task, etc. is worth doing right the first time. Small steps are just as important as big finishes.

Crazy days at the office are gonna happen. Guaranteed. No office is immune to this inevitablity. You have three choices: cause the chaos, get caught up in the chaos, or learn from the chaos.

Staying calm and centered throughout your day while a hurricane of crazy swirls around you might have a secret benefit… creativity.  Just as neccesity is the mother of invention, a case can be made that ingenious solutions can present themselves during a crisis at work. The trick is to stay observent and not get caught up in the storm. Look for opportunities when everyone else is running around like headless chickens. See what happens! 

Motivational Quotes - Creativity and Fun“Creativity is intelligence having fun.”

Not only is creativity a positive expression of intelligence, it is a neccesary one! Inspiration, innovation, and imagination are all forms of creative intelligence expressing itself.  And what business doesn’t want staff who excel with those three qualities?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having fun at work! It lowers the pressure and increases the productivity of not only yourself, but those around you. Being able to use your intellect in fun and productive ways while working is the best kind of job to have.

Positive Impact“Recognize that every interaction you have is an opportunity to make a positive impact on others.”

Man, oh man, is this an important one! Especially if your work involves dealing with other staff or customers on a daily basis. Every interaction–whether in person, on the phone, via email or Zoom–gives you the chance to demonstrate the power of positivity and genuine congeniality. Strong Boss“Build a team so strong you don’t know who the boss is.”

Being a part of such a team requires dedication to a goal, surrounding yourself with people whose talents lie outside your own, holding yourself accountable for your participation and production towards that goal, and checking your professional ego outside the door when you come to work each day.

If you can find a group of like-minded with the same level of dedication? You’ll never feel like you’re “working” another day in your career! Hands down, the best feeling in the world.

Keep Going“Keep going, because you did not come this far just to come this far.”

Work without purpose is work without meaning. Some work for money (okay… we all work for money) and some for advancement and recognition. Still others work to provide for their families, that Jamacian vacation, the down payment on that house. But those are all “reasons” why you work. Not meaning.

A better question to occaisionaly ask yourself is this: “What is the significance of my work?” Does it help make the world a better place? Will it help make me a better person? Does it alliviate the hardship of those around me? Is anyone else capable of doing what I do better than I’m doing it today?

These types of questions can help you establish better goals–refocus your energy and remind or help you rediscover why you came this far to begin with.
